Keep in mind that their are a few other high probability conflicts that I'm simply unaware of or I lack the proper data to make an assessment about. Thus far, only the United States and the Soviet Union/Russian Federation are known to have possessed nuclear weapons programs developed and funded well enough to manufacture miniaturized nuclear weapons. Large scale warfare, between two super powers in this day and age most likely equities the use of nuclear weapons. If we look how warfare has progressed since the start of the 19th century, some notice, one distinct difference. With the advent of long range weaponry like bombers, the cities of enemy countries, became logical targets. Thus unlike previous ages large amounts of women and children die, along with men. No matter how much certain leaders try and push for nuclear disarmament it is most likely an illusion. Large countries from around the world hope beyond hope that all the small countries don’t posses any nuclear defenses.. Why? Well its much easier to defeat a country if there not going to get nuked in the process. Nuclear deterrence is the way of the future and when certain world powers relies that it isn’t wise to engage in violence or harass.... in this day and age. The world will be a much better place once everyone relies that its in everyones best interests to cooperate and maintain the peace. If a country does invade another country there is a high probability that they might get nuked in retaliation, this truth Is only becoming more true as time passes. My point is, its better for the entire human race, for all countries, to resolve their problems and disputes in a peaceful rational manner. Large scale War between each other, is becoming less and less rational.

Just because your deep underground doesn't mean that your safe from the destructive force of nuclear weapons! Bunker-busting nuclear weapons, also called earth-penetrating weapons (EPW), are a type of nuclear weapon designed to penetrate into soil, rock, or concrete to deliver a nuclear warhead to a target. These weapons would be used to destroy hardened, underground military bunkers or civilian targets buried deep in the ground. Rocket sled testing at Eglin Air Force Base has demonstrated penetrations of 100 to 150 feet (46 m) in concrete[citation needed] when traveling at 4,000 ft/s (1,200 m/s). The reason for this is liquefaction of the concrete in the target, that tends to flow over the projectile.

As we see in the highly realistic simulator above, nuclear war usually always leads to mutual destruction of the combatants and their neighbors. The avoidance of war is very important if the people of Earth wish to become an integral race in the galaxy. Also if we look at this simulator, we need to consider what countries would want other countries to annihilate each other (none combatants) as possible instigators in such a scenario. New world powers would rise while the current powers fall because of nuclear war!

As America continues to increase it’s population the demand for more natural resources becomes greater with every passing year, making a resource rich country like Canada more and more tempting. A situation of invasion probably won’t come about unless the EU is tied down in a different conflict. America has a way of making fun of a country before it attacks. Ex. Iraq. Why? it’s simply a matter of influencing the masses. Democracy’s can't usually invade another country without winning popular support at home and humor can be used as a tool to influence the masses. Though unlike Iraq Canada is a nuclear power and a technologically advanced country with many friends.

There is a probability that some time in the future North Korea may try and assimilate South Korea through violence. Considering South Korea is close friends with America and Japan the consequences of such action would be severe. There is a good chance, that South Korea has a nuclear arsenal. If the North decides to invaded the South it might get nuked as a result of its actions. As a result of recent North Korea nuclear testing, there is a probability that they may invade the South and threaten a country like Japan with nuclear annihilation if they choose to intervene. Though the North needs to keep this in mind, even if a country doesn’t profess that it has nuclear weapons, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t!

I would just like to remind everyone that there are some powerful individuals that want war. First off, if America gets nuked by the Arabs as an act of terrorism, who did the terrorists buy a small tactical nuke off of? I can almost guarantee at the moment (09) they don’t posses the scientific or technological know how to create a small nuclear device. Thus the question becomes, who did they purchase their tactical nuke from? The highest probability would be China or Russia. There is also the Merchants of Death probability, people that profit because of War. It isn’t difficult to start a war if an individual has the proper funds, imagination and resources to start one.

Another probability is a war with Iran because of nuclear weapons research. The thing is that Russia at the moment 09 is a strong supporter of Iran. Though my question is what is America worried about? Iran firing a huge, bulky long range nuclear missile that can easily be intercepted. Seriously, Iran probably won’t become a technological nuclear threat until around the end of the century. Unless Russia or China decides to share some of their knowledge. I would also like to stress that Iran is a Muslim country, now I don’t have anything against Muslims, but one thing I’ve learned about them, if they can’t convert you with the tongue and considerable effort, then conversion with the sword becomes the next most logical option. As far as they are concerned America, Britain and most European powers are so deeply entranced into Christianity that conversion isn’t really an option.

There is a probability that some time in the future, Islam may try and exterminate the Jewish people once again (nukes). I know, the Jews killed Jesus and all that, thus Christians shouldn't have a lot of sympathy. Though the last time I read the bible both of Jesus parents where Jewish (Mary and Joseph), thus does that not make Jesus a Jew, that invented Christianity..... genetically speaking of course! The Muslim world has less tolerance then any other religion on the face of the planet for different religions (try and start a Christian Church in one of their countries!), thus if they do manage to exterminate the Jews then Christian nations are the next logical target. It is probably in Muslim nations best interests to edit the Quran and remove the sections that aren’t conductive to world peace, cooperation and team work. They need to wake up and relies that their is more to existance then trying to prove to the world that their religion is the best religion. Based on popular stats (Nobel Prize winners, Olympics, War Records) their doing a horrible job. Thus either their going to help the human race survive, or their going to help the human race go extinct.

The Kashmir conflict refers to the territorial dispute over Kashmir, the northwestern most region of the Indian subcontinent. The parties to the dispute are India, Pakistan, China and the people of Kashmir. India's official position is that Kashmir is an "integral part" of India. Pakistan's official position is that Kashmir is a disputed territory whose final status must be determined by the people of Kashmir. Certain Kashmiri independence groups believe that Kashmir should be independent of both India and Pakistan. India and Pakistan have fought three wars over Kashmir: in 1947, 1965, and 1999. India and China have clashed once, in 1962 over Aksai Chin as well as the northeastern Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Kashmir at the moment is divided between the three groups and as long as they all agree that greed isn't a good everything should become more peaceful. Though if long term peace isn’t possible then perhaps Kashmir should be granted independence and become it's own sovereign nation.

Another probability is a fight over the resources in the Arctic. The thing that I find very interesting about this potentially world war, three, starting situation, is that most of the countries that are bickering about who gets access to the resources already have a huge amount of land and natural resources. Countries like Russia, Canada and America. Are the forerunners in this potential explosive dispute. I’m sure that the area can be divided up between the competitors, while avoiding violence that could lead to nuclear war.

Again I have to stress the importance of nuclear weapons for protecting sovereignty. If China does choose to invade a country like Taiwan as long as they have a few tactical nukes that can be delivered by some very fast and elusive air craft then the risk to main land China out weights the benefits of assimilating Taiwan. If they want it, they should look to more peaceful options and if those fail, just acknowledge that Taiwan is a free and sovereign country. Peace is better then getting nuked!
